What does MainStreet do?
MainStreet provides a number of eCommerce, mCommerce and Point of Sale technologies
which provide online and mobile Merchants with the ability to authorise any electronic
payment in any location. We are an online and mobile business' one stop shop for
all their mobile payment needs, providing everything from assistance in establishing
a merchant facility, to supplying the equipment plus financing, to providing support
for as long as the MainStreet merchant facility is active. A strong value added
proposition for the use of this technology supplied by MainStreet, is the addition
of “smart loyalty” products, which are customised or “white labelled” for each Merchant
to enrol and offer additional loyalty offers to their own customers at the point
of sale or online. This added value service offers point of sale Merchants the ability
to “extend their floor space……into cyberspace”, thus providing opportunities to
expand sales and increase repeat business from profiled and happy customers.
When was the MainStreet eCommerce Community started?
The MainStreet eCommerce and mCommerce Online Community concept was founded over
12 years ago and the point of sale technology deployed by MainStreet was acquired
throughout this period from a specialist banking software-house working with all
the major Australian banks. MainStreet now releases and operates its own EFTPOS
Terminal and FEP secure transaction payment gateway or switch. Armed with this strategic
technology, MainStreet developed a number of ancillary services being a specialised
Shopping Mall called MainStreetMalls
(www.mainstreetmalls.com) which offers an array of products and services
for global distribution and can be “white labelled” by our clients and its categories
are available for use and addition to any Merchants shopping experience. In addition,
MainStreet has developed a Market, called MainStreetMarkets (www.mainstreetmarkets.com.au) where cardholders can Buy,
Sell, Swap and Trade their own goods and services. This online sellers and buyers
Market too, can be “white labelled” for Merchants and has one big difference to
online Auction sites, it has no timeline for Buyers to abide by and acts for the
Seller as a large “garage sale”.

What's required to open an MainStreet Merchant facility?
To open an MainStreet Merchant facility an Applicant must have:
1. a registered business or company (ABN, ACN or Sole Trader);
2. a valid bank account;
3. trading history of more than 6 months.
We will help you with the rest including establishing your Merchant facility at
the point of sale and online, supplying your equipment and providing ongoing technical

Is the MainStreet mobile payment solution expensive?
NO. The MainStreet mPOS™
is the most cost effective and affordable mobile payment solution available on the
market. In addition, MainStreet also offers the most flexible ownership options
anywhere with outright purchase, finance and rental available to approved merchants.
In many cases acquisition f this hardware can be bundled within an advertising campaign
or rolled into your Merchant Loyalty Program, making it cost neutral.
How safe is the MainStreet mPOS?
Our motto is: "If it says approved, You'll get paid." The MainStreet mPOS™ exceeds
the highest security requirements for mobile payment processing and has received
bank certification since it was first released in 1994. In addition, mobile network
compliances were achieved for our GSM/GPRS payment device technologies. Banking
certifications have also been achieved for the USA, EU and ASIA.
What is a “reversal”
Recovery-reversal is a complex banking process, which ensures that you do not lose
any money or double charge your clients when a financial transaction is not successfully
completed. “Reversals” apply ONLY to financial transactions and are caused by time
outs due to network being down before or after the financial transaction was sent,
or due to acquiring bank being not available to receive, process or respond to your
transaction, or due to printer failure to print receipts. Once the cause has been
eliminated, the terminal will automatically send the “Reversal” to notify the acquiring
bank, before a new financial transaction is processed or you initiate a Settlement.
The result is the cancellation of the original (failed) transaction.
Can MainStreet help me trade online with my own Shopping Mall?
MainStreet can provide a completely white labelled online Shopping Mall or Market
including a number of Categories which you can chose from to “pad out” your own
online Store when you may not have enough products or services of your own. This
product included a complete eWallet payment system to add additional security to
your online Store as well as Merchant facilities so you can accept credit, debit
and other stored value cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Dinners Club cards.
